Mission Bo - Our Vision:

In 15 Years we plan to see a self sustaining community that has access to clean drinking water, food to eat, an opportunity for the children to be educated, healthy daily living habits, and the opportunity for individuals to gain access to micro enterprise funds!!


World Vision Water Facts:

  • Every 15 Seconds, somewhere in the world, a child dies from a preventable, water-related disease or poor sanitation.
  • Contaminated water and poor sanitation are factors in 80% of all illness in the developing world.
  • Access to clean water, hygiene and sanitation can reduce child mortality by up to 65% in developing countries.
  • Water is a precious resource everywhere. Every day, Americans drink more than 1 billion glasses of tap water.
  • 93% of World Vision wells are still operating after 10 years of use, the overall world average is only 10-12%.

Mission Bo Facts:

  • 1 out of 3 kids die before the age of 5 due to a water-related disease or poor sanitation.
  • 1 out of 9 women die during child birth.
  • 26% of the people in Sierra Leone have access to clean water.
  • The ideal ratio of people to wells is 250 to 1. Currently the ratio in the Mission Bo area is 2,500 to 1.
